Want to be a mentor and help make SOCS more inclusive? This year, CSGS and CSUS are collaborating to organize a new mentorship program, Bridge! We will match graduate students with historically underrepresented undergraduate students interested in CS research.

This program aims to increase diversity and inclusion in CS research by helping undergraduate students understand what academic research in CS looks like, what graduate school entails, and what pathways exist for research careers.

So—we are looking for graduate students who would like to mentor undergraduates this year! ALL graduate students in SOCS are eligible to mentor. This is an amazing opportunity to practice mentoring skills, share your experiences, and be involved in fostering an inclusive SOCS community.

Mentor responsibilities include a one-time training session, regular meetings with mentees, and open communication with mentees.
