The McGill School of Computer Science recognizes the fact that McGill University lies on colonized land. We are on the traditional territory of the Kanien’kehá:ka (‘Mohawk’) and the Anishinaabe Nations. As the CSGS Society is overwhelmingly composed of non-indigenous settlers, it is vital that we remain aware of the colonial process which continues to displace and dispossess Indigenous peoples throughout Montreal and Turtle Island (North America) till this very day. We urge all of our society to learn more about the colonial histories of these lands, and support ongoing Indigenous anti-colonial struggles, from Kanehsatà:ke to Wet’suwet’en.
